Why aren't the PIP Editing options enabled after adding a *.wmv clip to PIP track?

After adding short *.wmv clip to PIP editing line, "select PIP preview" window does not appear. Right-clicking on PIP clip and selecting "edit PIP clip" does nothing. What am I doing wrong?

I'm sorry you are having trouble.

Are you both attempting to use WMV on the PIP track?

I am thinking the WMV might be the culprit here.

Please start a new project and only add the WMV to the timeline. Then, produce that as an AVI or MP4 file.

Then, open your other project, remove the WMV PIP video, and add the AVI or MP4 PIP video to the PIP track and see if the PIP options are available to you.

Let us know if this doesn't work.

Hello Kevin and Evgeny. If I am reading this correctly you are adding a short .wmv to the timeline as a PIP Video from the Clip Bin? Is that correct?

I guess I should ask if you are using the Camtasia Studio for PC or Mac? My answer is based on the PC Version as that is what I use.

I have a question for you. Is there another video that you imported or was already on the timeline first? For example something you recorded and edited in Camtasia Studio? If so then you should be able to add the 2nd video (Short .wmv to the timeline). Do that by right clicking the 2nd video with your mouse and selecting the Add too>PIP Video and it should add it to the timeline as a PIP. You should then be able to then edit the PIP.

I do not know if this will help but, if you could make a short video and upload it somewhere like screencast.com for us to see then I could maybe see what you are doing step by step and help more. Let me know and thanks for posting your question(s) here. Have a great day.
