Nudge track (with keyboard) in Camtasia 2020

Was support for nudging tracks with a keypress added to Camtasia 2020? I don't see the feature, if it was added. Does a competitor have a patent on this concept, or why not implement such a simple feature? This is my biggest frustration with Camtasia.

(Btw... I tried to respond to other threads on this topic, and I get an error "Sorry! It looks like we were unable to sign you in. To complete your action, please sign in first.")

I don't know about version 2020, but I do know that you cannot patent an idea or a concept.  (This probably explains why the US Patent Office rejected my claim to the alphabet.)

Regarding why there is no "nudge" function built in:  It seems that they develop what appeals to them and/or is likely to be a selling point.

You can patent the UI's approach to the concept though. E.g., right-arrow to move an object on a timeline one frame likely could be patentable.

But then again, who knows with the USPTO. :)

to nudge everything on a track, or multiple tracks, group all those items together

select the group on the timeline, nudge them using the arrow keys, or shift-arrow keys

Thanks for the suggestion. I had seen that suggestion on other posts. I would like to nudge a single item on a track, not the entire track. Having to group, nudge, ungroup seems far from efficient. Simple example... two tracks that I need to align. I can group an entire track. I still can't nudge that track.

Unfortunately, you cannot nudge tracks in Camtasia 2020.

Maybe next year???

Your browser is not signing you in properly, purge your browser cache should do the trick.

I have tried multiple browsers on multiple computers. I have cleared my cache. Same result.

Joe had a suggestion in this post that seems to have worked for me. Thanks again, Joe!

No, nudging  "Track Content/Media/Audio/etc." on the timeline is the request.

You're nudging canvas content "In" the canvas area.

I've been using nudging in Adobe for years. Its a great feature.

You seem to be overthinking this.

Its not a complex feature. Select the media you want to nudge and nudge it. Simple {:>)

since it's not a feature of current Camtasia, cut time/insert time is the only way I see to do it now

Correct, kayakman, that's the type of functionality I'm looking for. My original post said nudge a track... I meant nudge an item on a track. Thanks!

Okay.

Earlier today I unintentionally stumbled across a timeline clip nudge feature in C9.
It was a dropdown with no keyboard shortcuts listed.
There were six options listed.
At least two had to do with moving the timeline left or right one frame.
I selected from the menu and the highlighted clip moved horizontally one frame.

Yes. This really happened.

Now, I can't remember what I did to make it appear!!!!!!!!

Maybe it's like a Willie Wonka golden ticket Easter egg.

Maybe an admin will view this entry and begin querying the engineers regarding undocumented and occult features.

If I ever stumble across it again I will document it with a video.
