when I add media(pictures) to time line I can only resize with aspect ratio on. How do I turn it off so I can make my width and height how I want it?

I believe you hold the Shift key down as you click and drag to adjust the size. ;)

Thanks. But again, that is just stupid how that works in Camtasia 9. Pretty much every design software out there uses the SHIFT key to constrain while keeping the aspect ratio on.

That was driving me crazy. Thanks a lot.

One question, smart focus animation seems to do nothing. I can't even add the effects to objects in the canvas. Do you have any idea why?

You Drag and Drop effects to the canvas or timeline to apply most of them. Most adjustments are done in the properties window.

Here is a link to a Smart Focus tutorial for Camtasia 8. https://www.techsmith.com/tutorial-camtasia-8-06-apply-smartfocus-zoom-pan.html
I've tried using smart focus in the past.I've found you can produce a much more polished pan and zoom animation manually.

Smart focus is not very bright. In general, you will need to tweak most of the created animations, delete some of them and add others. At least that's been my experience. If you try it I'd like to hear how it worked out for you.

I don't know why TechSmith goes against the grain and overwrites industry standard  keyboard shortcuts either. It confuses most people and makes no sense.

Yep. Hold the Shift key to NOT maintain aspect ratio.

Exactly the opposite of most other programs. ;-)
