Once opened Camtasia 9.0, I can not edit anything. I have prepared a video capture, so that I can explain myself better. Thanks for your help!!

This has happened to me twice. For me, I just restart my computer and the problem is fixed.

In my case, I have a few weeks with this problem, and I am not able to find the solution, and that is why I decided to ask for help. In this case it is not a question of restarting. Thanks for answering.

Okay, here's a hack someone else came up with.I copied and pasted his post.

Hi all

I realize this has already been resolved by Peter. But for others that may encounter it down the road, here is a way I've found to restore things without having to perform a reinstall.

Cheers... Rick :)

It appears that a repair install or a reinstall restores operation as well. I'm not a big fan of hacks. But this gives you a couple of options.

Hi there

What you are presenting is what the operating system itself is showing you as the thumbnail for the MP4. I'm not sure what the operating system looks at to choose this.

If you double-clicked the html file that starts the player and all, I'm guessing the poster frame would then be correct.

About the only thing I can suggest would be to have your poster frame at the beginning of the video for a few seconds. That seems to work for my own videos.

Cheers... Rick :)

Rick is correct.

The way you are setting your thumbnail is for use by the smartplayer and will only show when playing your video from the html file and using the smartplayer.

If you want that thumbnail to be in the mp4 file you have to add that image to the beginning of the timeline.

As it turns out, it has not worked. I have put an image at first, but Camtasia has chosen a frame of video equally. Thank you anyway.

I've been experimenting. If my initial findings are accurate, the image needs to be present from the beginning and for a total of five seconds and one frame. You might try that and see if it makes a difference.

Cheers... Rick :)

Well, neither. I've tried up to 6 seconds, but still prefer the video for the first image!
Thank you very much. I did several tests. Now abandon, maybe later find the solution, as usually happens.
If someone discovers it before, he will be welcome!
Graciassss!!
