Hey Walter,

I was able to accomplish what you are looking for, and I made a short video of how I went about it: http://www.screencast.com/t/rJEc4lYh9CW0

Hope that helps!

1. that 3 year old link is broken. 2. Why is Capture and Save not an option on the capture menu. Kind of like when you finish with a screen recording in Camtasia, it asks if you want to save and edit or just SAVE. Sometimes I just want to save it to a designated folder. Please make this a thing.

Hi Mr Joe Morgan, your video tutorial is quite nice, and easy to follow, it would be better if you use the zoom function or visual properties, so that the topic is being appointed, can look larger

Thanks Joe for your quick reply, this was help but I was hoping for something more simple like an additional button added to the attached image of a menu. That when you clicked on it you could rename (if needed), and navigate where you want it saved. Or Snagit would recall the file location by the second capture much like the editor does.

This is a great workaround and gets the result I need but then I would have to un-do the setting when I finished with those set of captures. If it's just another button option it's a little simpler.

@Joe_Morgan, Thank you!  That was pretty much what I needed.

SnagIT is definitely not an "intuitive" program, nor a quick program.

I just spent an hour and a half trying to use SnagIt, reading the help, searching online docs, and googling to see if there was a simple (!) setting to JUST GET A SCREEN CAP.

It was taking me six (6!) separate actions to get a single screen capture with the pre-configured settings.  RE-configuring (custom profile) would get that down to 3 steps "occasionally".

As a "quick screen capture" program, SnagIt is useless to me for trying to grab caps of an in-progress webinar for a training manual or reference.  When you have to transfer back and forth from keyboard to mouse to keyboard to ... just to save a single picture, you're better off not using SnagIt.  IrfanView has an extremely easy to set up IMMEDIATE screen capture capability.  SnagIt... not so much.

With Joe's video, I finally got it to do quick, single screen caps, so I can just go on and capture website shots to be edited and documented afterwards.  No horrendous 6-steps for each cap.

Joe, Thank you.
SnagIt, can I see you in my office for a minute?  We need to talk about your performance.
