I was offered an update for Snagit 12 for $24.95.  Went all the way to checkout and it asked if I want a year of updates for $12.95, both MINOR and major !  Hard to believe they are charging to fix their bugs.  I can see charging for a release from 12 to 13, but a bug fix update ?  So in a week my software might be useless unless I add the $12.95 option I figure. Come on !

Hi JohnnyZ,

Sorry for the confusion the upgrade options.

If you purchase the Snagit 12 upgrade for $24.95, you will receive all minor and maintenance updates for version 12 free of charge (12.1, 12.1.1, 12.2, etc.).

The option to add maintenance (additional $12.95) would mean that if version 13 were to be released within the date range of your maintenance agreement, you would not need to pay for the major upgrade.

I agree that our mention of minor updates being free is confusing, I will check with our sales team to better understand this and make it clearer moving forward.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Jason

LOL, so in essence one could think of it as an "upgrade gamble". If a new major version appears, you win. If not, house wins. ;)
