Option to Keep Scroll Bar Full Size

a few versions/years back SnagIt changed to a collapsed/hidden vertical scroll bar control in the editor, which adds no value, and actually makes the product more difficult to use.

the new control actually does not save any horizontal real estate, as such, offers only aesthetic benefit - at the expense of user productivity.

as SnagIt is a productivity tool, this change is counter intuitive.

since the implementation, a user cannot just move the mouse directly to the scroll bar (as our brain mysteriously allows us to do) as with other windows apps, rather the user must first move the cursor to the scroll 'area' and wait for the bar to expand before selecting.  sure, the bar expands 'instantly' but you have to hesitate before you can click ...

even Windows acknowledged this was a bad idea with the roll out of Windows 10 April 2018 Update (version 1803), which now allows you to turn off the hidden scroll bar (>settings >ease of use > Display ... Automatically Hide scroll bars in windows.

PLEASE either turn it off by default, or give the user the option to turn of this feature.

> ultra power user, been using SnagIt since 4.3 ... all day, every day.

I'm not sure I  understand what you are referring to.

This is what I  see in 2020:

Looks normal to me.

Hi Jason

I believe what Milton is referring to is the scroll bar to the right edge of the properties panel when conditions warrant a scroll bar.
