I Snag and paste a lot using button at top of screen.
Snag and paste into doc - snag and paste into doc - snag and paste into doc etc.
But at the moment I have to wait for image to display in library, click on image and press 'Copy' before I can paste.
It would be useful to have an option to just Snag straight to clipboard and not display library each time.  Obviously still saves to library.
I think this might be available on main capture window but most people popup button at top of screen.

Create a custom profile for copy to clipboard. Disable preview in editor and select any other preferences.
Save Profile.

Once you've done that. Make sure the drop down menu is active by clicking on the icon in the image below, it's in the green rectangle.
Then, when you want to copy to clipboard. Just click it from the menu, instead of the giant red button. That unfortunately cannot do this for you, because you cannot customize the button.

Joe, doesn't selecting an item from the drop-down make that the action for the red button?

No, the red button remains the default all in one capture.
From SnagIt 11 backward, you could change the profile assigned to the Giant Red Button
"As it should still be" in my opinion.
That drop down menu was added to make up for the lack of that feature.

It actually makes it easier to access more profiles without assigning shortcuts to them.
So its good for that reason, but I don't see whats wrong with allowing you to customize that button.

I use image capture to SnagIt and image capture to Photoshop all the time. That pretty much covers my needs.
They have a shortcut assigned to them as you can see in my image above. Those I remember.

I would assign Panoramic Scrolling Capture to the giant red button if I could. I don't use Panoramic very often, so remembering the shortcut  doesn't come easy. Every program I use has shortcuts I memorize, I can't remember them all.

Actually David that's a yes and no.
Depends how you do your captures.

If you make captures with the capture window (Joe's first Image above) then clicking on one of the drop-down items (presets) changes the red buttons action.
So that's the Yes to your question.
It's also two clicks and a window on the screen in your way.

If you make captures using the One-Click (Joe's second Image above) then the red button only does All-in-One.
Clicking on a drop-down item (preset) just goes off and does the capture/action.
Thus One-Click and done.  And that's the No to your question.

I did notice that, using the capture window, selecting a preset then pushing the red button resulted in the selected capture. However, after that one capture, the red button in the capture window reverted back to it's original behaviour.

yeah .. shame you cant customize red button .. but it is a big step forward thanks

Now all we need to get TechSmith to do is allow more Recents

And to be able to click onm a thumbnail in the library and copy the image to paste into an email .. at the  moment you have to open the thumbnail to copy it

For e-mail, you can drag and drop a image from the library into G-mail. }:>)
It doesn't work for my Yahoo account. }:>(
