OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.2
Snagit 2.1.2 (73510)
MacBook Air 2012 (also happens on MBA 2011)

My hotkey for screen capture is shift+command+c. Sometimes, but not all times, when I click the hotkey for screen capture (no countdown) my system immediately freezes up. My mouse pointer still works, but I can't click on anything and the system is unresponsive. The longest I've waited before hard-reboot is maybe 60 seconds.

Today I've had this problem cause me 3 consecutive reboots whereas in the past, usually I'd get one and then the software would work fine for a few days.

Hello Anthony,

Sorry you're encountering this issue.

I did notice you are running the previous release of Snagit 2. There is currently an update available, Snagit 2.1.3. I would like to recommend upgrading from the Snagit menu and update to the latest version.

If that doesn't address the problem or direct assistance is required, please create a help ticket at: http://bit.ly/ts-support (Ask a Question tab). If you've never opened a ticket, you'll have to make a new account, but you will typically get a response within one business day.

I've got 2.1.3 and the same issue happens to me and my colleague who is on the same. It's happening frequently and is getting quite frustrating. This must be a known issue by know. Is there a fix forthcoming?

Not just happening when clicking on hotkey by the way. Happens after you click the capture button too. Force quite doesn't work so you have to do a full reboot forcing a shut down and restart. After doing this 3 or 4 times a day every day I'm not a happy camper.

On OSX 10.8.2

Same happening here. Please help. Otherwise, bad press for Snagit and on to your competition which i am sure does not have this problem.

Our QA guys have been trying to reproduce this error all week with no success. Anyone having this issue - could you please open a support ticket so that we can gather more info and try to figure it out for you?
