OTF Font doesn't work in Camtasia

Our company's brand typeface won't load in Camtasia 9. The font comes with several weights in separate .otf files, and all of them work except for the standard weight, which just displays as Arial in Camtasia. I've used it in the past without a problem. I also notice that none of the Wingdings or Webdings fonts appear in the font selection list... I used to use those on occasion for icons.

I tried reinstalling the font, but it doesn't seem to help. I can work with a heavier weight for this project I'm on right now, but I'd love to know how to make the normal weight work if there's a fix for it.

This is Windows 10 Pro (latest edition), 64-bit.

.ttf fonts tend to work better in Camtasia. There are free on line font converters like https://everythingfonts.com/otf-to-ttf

I don't know how well the conversions work, but you could try converting your font to ttf and see if that solves your problem.

Windows won't allow me to have both the TTF and OTF of the font installed at the same time, though. I'd have to give up the added functionality of the OTF version. That, and I never had an issue with this typeface before... I'm wondering if it's something specific about the latest edition of Camtasia, given that the Wingdings are all gone as well. Or maybe it's something about the latest edition of Windows. I'm not sure...

I'm having the same problem with Maestro, a TTF music font. (Win10 64 bit, Camtasia 9.1.2 (build 3011))

I had the same problem and asked the Camtasia support a couple of weeks ago and got the following answer:

"Camtasia works best with a TTF font (OTF fonts are technically not supported, though Camtasia can pick some OTF fonts up). You will need to request a true TTF font from the font creator to see if it works in Camtasia."
