I am using 1.0.4 on my Macbook but I use Microsoft Outlook for my e-mail. I don't have a problem dropping a caption into Outlook e-mail, however, I cannot resize the caption. No problems within Word or Excel. Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Hi Chris,

Typically, once a capture has been shared or dragged to a different application, Snagit does not have the ability to control how the capture is displayed or sized. In the case of Microsoft Outlook, they usually try to auto-size images being embedded in order to make them viewable on one page and also to keep the size of the email smaller. But from the looks of it, as you've indicated, there isn't a way to adjust the size once in the message editor.

One workaround would be to resize the image in Snagit prior to dragging and dropping to Outlook. To do this, open your capture in the Snagit Editor, choose the Edit menu and the "Resize Image..." menu item. This will give the option of making your image smaller or larger based on percentage or pixels.

I hope this helps out.

Thanks,

Jason

Thanks for the tip. This problem probably has something to do with the new version of Outlook 11 and Apple e-mail. On my Outlook 2007 for PC and older version of Snag-It, I can drop clips and resize without any problems. Thank goodness I can resize in Excel, Word, and Apple Pages.
