I'm new to Camtasia. I have a photo and I want to place a video of me on top of the photo so it looks like I am in that location. Is that possible? If so, how? Thanks!

Hi there

First, you will need to have recorded yourself against a green or blue background. (Typically those colors are used). Then you will need to import that recording into Camtasia, place it where you want, then apply the "Remove a color" effect to the video of yourself. You would use the eyedropper to choose that solid background color.

It's a bit more involved than that in practice, but those are typically the general steps involved.

Perhaps others will chime in here with their own advice.

Cheers... Rick :)

It's pretty easy though. I just filmed on a green screen the other day. I have an actual canvas that was pretty cheap but honestly, you can use a solid background of any color as long as the object standing in front contrasts and isn't wearing that color.

When you do, don't wear anything that's remotely close to the color of the green screen. If you wore a green shirt, then that part of your body would disappear when you remove the green background. (Although you can also use this for some fun effects if you plan it out).

Also, make sure you have a good lighting setup when you film. You want you and your clothes to contrast as much as possible with the background. I've found that heavy shadows, if there's inconsistent lighting, tend to get sucked into removed background.
