PAste a timeline item to a specific track

It would be very useful to be able to copy a timeline item and then paste it into a delegated track. At the moment in a project with many tracks, the default is to paste the copied item into the next available blank space in a vacant track space from the bottom, often this means the pasted item can be found several tracks below where it is intended to be. A bit messy looking for it sometimes.

Another good suggestion that would solve a common annoyance. You're on a roll, Darren!

If you right-click on a track > Paste, it will paste on that track if the copied item fits.

I have this same frustration. In my workflow, simply having the pasted clip placed on the lowest VISIBLE track would be much better (rather than pasting it on a much lower, offscreen track). The right-click solution is great. Thanks! But from a UI viewpoint, having the regular ol' paste choose an offscreen location seems off...
