The Problem
When pausing a recording, it's not obvious the recorder is in the paused state. A more obvious visual indicator would make it easier to tell.

I'm all for making states more visible, but on a mac, the menu bar icon goes from red to blank, which is the same look as when not recording. Perhaps that's what you mean...and changing the color of icon to yellow might help.

Hi David,

In a Windows PC will definitely be a very helpful feature.

Yes. On the PC, I run into this annoying problem ALL THE TIME! If I hit F9 to resume recording, I have no visual indicator that it has done so. To double check, I have to reach down into the Task bar and bring the panel up....which I later have to cut all of this out of my videos.

I set the toolbar to "Minimize Recorder"................... to "System Tray"
If the recorder will be recorded.

That way, every time you pause a recording. The toolbar pops back up on screen. It's pretty obvious the recording has been paused. You can even position it wherever you want.Stick it in the center of the screen or the app you're recording.

Minimized to Taskbar used to offer that same functionality. That was in version 8. However, it does that float down slowly and shrink to the taskbar. That also shows up in the recorded video. You had to edit that out of the video at every time. It was crazy.
That's probably why it doesn't pop up any longer.

Regards,Joe

Thanks for submitting this idea. We'll have our design team consider ways we can make indicating a paused state more obvious. As we have updates on it's progress we'll post them on this idea thread.

I also support adding some indication that that the recording has been PAUSED.  Maybe just flashing a small "Paused" on the screen during this time.

Or even just flashing the dashed line around the recording area when PAUSED would be a good indicator.
