Pausing recording occasionally displays toolbar on my recordings.

While recording my screen captures, the recording tool bar will not minimize to the system tray fast enough and sometimes be captured in my recording.
I pause my recordings a lot because I'm doing presentations on how to edit video and I have steps written down that must be reviewed.
Going through and trying to edit out one or two frames is frustrating. The toolbar looks bad and unprofessional on screen.
It's also easy to miss this while editing because it only displays for an instant.
This doesn't occur every time I pause. But it happens a lot.
I could set the toolbar to always be hidden. But I've tried that. There have been times I thought I resumed recording but I did not.
When the toolbar is displayed, I know I'm not recording. So I count on that.
Backtracking a project and deleting work just so that you can record missed steps, and what those steps actually look like.
Is a incredible waste of time.
So I would appreciate any suggestions that might help here. Thanks.

Hi Joe,

I understand this could be irritating - you could try running Recorder in 'hidden mode'.... check out this article on command line switches for recorder: https://support.techsmith.com/entries/22885757-Camtasia-Studio-Command-line-switches-and-options-for...

In addition to those listed on that page, you may use /h or /hide to run recorder without the ui.  Please let me know if you run into any trouble.

Regards,

Aaron

Thanks for that. I recently switched to using 2 monitors and I can now put the toolbar on the monitor I'm not recording and get around it that way. At least that way I can always tell if I'm recording or not. That's the problem with always hidden. If you forget to restart a paused recording then spotting the toolbar usually happens pretty fast. With the toolbar on the other monitor I don't get that functionality. So if the toolbar would vanish 1 frame before recording resumed, that would be great.

I usually capture at near-full screen; only my task bar is excluded from the capture area; I also always start a capture in paused mode; I too pause/un-pause constantly

my solution is to position the Recorder UI so the top of it lies just below the top of task bar; that way, even if the capture starts before the minimize action is fully complete, Recorder never shows in the capture

That's actually a pretty good Idea. However, I do video editing tutorials and I zoom in pretty tight on some things.
Plus I prefer Full HD tutorials so you can watch them on your typical 1920x1080 monitor without the blurry image typical of 720p.
But that's a great suggestion. Thanks

You're welcome

virtually all my screen captures are 1920x1040 [grab everything but the task bar]; so no issues with zooming in getting blurry
