Pdf and arrow

Hi,

I'm using mac book pro with version 10.12.6. I have a couple of questions.

1. How can I capture a textbook automatically and convert it into a single pdf?
2. When I'm capturing something, the big arrow is appearing always (big arrow in the left side in the screen shot)
3. How to autosave in the jpg or pdf format, it always saves in snagproj.

How to fix these? I'm using snagit 3.3.7

Thanks

Do you mean that the arrow cursor is always captured, regardless of the capture settings?  I am having this issue with SnagIT 4.1.7 (78114) on macOS 10.11.6.

Hi JMichaelTX,

In Snagit 4, there are actually 2 separate capture windows, each with their own capture cursor setting. I'd check to make sure the setting is what you're expecting for the capture button that you're using.

I think there's an OS level setting on the mac that impacted snag it back in the 3.x days.

Make sure you've got the cursor set to the smallest setting in Accessibility.
Note I think some have also had issues with the "shake mouse pointer to locate" but as you can see from this screenshot, mine is enabled and my cursor is normal sized.

For your capture to textbook question,  I feel like your best bet would be to save to a word document, and then print to PDF from word.

To automate this a bit you'd want to setup a custom capture preset:

Make a preset like this:

Click the big Save Preset button.

Now assign a keyboard shortcut so you can do this easily:

Open a MS word to a blank document

Open the program you want to screengrab -ie Chrome

Use your shortcut key, select your region, and the images are automatically pasted into MS word.

here's a link to a video of that behavior: https://www.screencast.com/t/jEpy0449mu

Note in the video, all I'm doing is hitting the keyboard shortcut for my capture preset above, and capturing, note  how it automatically switches to word, and pastes in the image.

The capture presets can be found by clicking the "S" icon in your menubar

I threw together a short video showing how to set up a preset to share to MS Word, and also how to get multiple screenshots into a word document. Let us know if you have any questions.

Hi Narayan,

Do you have this setting switched off (shown here as on)? As far as the cursor being too large, that's a bug that appeared in macOS 10.12, but unfortunately Snagit version 3 is only supports 10.11 and earlier.
