Idea: Create an add on that would play an audio race start when recording in coaches eye. Coaches eye has modernized and revolutionized the way we time Timbersports competitions. What used to be done with a large group of volunteers and a dozen stop watches is now more accurately and efficiently accomplished with coaches eye. In a Timbersports race traditionally the cadence "3 2 1 go" is used to start most events. With the initial use of coaches eye, timers would listen to the audio for the "go" for when to start the stopwatch feature. The audio wasn't always easy to hear and use, so we stared using a light that the announcer would point at the camera. As he said "go" he would click the light on and the timers would scan through the frames to find the frame when the light was on to start the stopwatch. At this point we were relying on the announcer to have great consistency. In order to eliminate human error in this, we created a PowerPoint slide show with audio that showed a red screen that went green on the "go". This is our current solution however in daylight it's hard to see the screen and it requires a lot of infrastructure. So, life would be simplified if the recording device could be hooked to a speaker and play a tone start or voice start when you started recording in coaches eye.
