Can I play recorded audio while recording the screen? This way, I can time my clicks with the audio clip I recorded the previous day.

Hey Micky,

You should be able to play audio through what ever player you are using just fine. Camtasia can record the system audio. Just click the arrow next to audio in the recorder, and this menu will appear:

Make sure system audio is checked, and you should be good to go!

Unfortunately, that doesn't play the audio already in the Camtasia project. I guess it only records audio that is playing from another program outside of Camtasia.

I already have audio on track 1 in the project that was recorded and edited the day before. Is there a way for the audio inside of Camtasia to play while I'm recording my mouse movements on the screen?

Hi all,

There is not an automated way for you to do that with Camtasia, but certainly you can just press play with your audio on track one, minimize the Camtasia Studio editor, and record your tutorial while the audio preview plays.

I have also seen others open the audio in Windows Media Player, start the playback, and then minimize WMP before recording. This is especially convenient if your keyboard has media keys (play, pause, rewind, etc.).

Hope that helps.

Those are good ideas.  Only recently have I learned that the recorder is really a separate tool from the Camtasia editor.
