Playhead line indication in timeline

In Camtasia 7, when my mouse hovered above the timeline, a vertical line appeared showing where precisely your mouse is in the timeline. This was great to figure out where exactly to cut. Is this an option to enable in Camtasia 8?

that "hover position" line is not shown in CS 8

it will show when you stick the playhead somewhere

Darn. No chance to get Techsmith to add it in as an option?

you can create an "idea" for it here in this forum

I initially missed it, but I've gotten comfortable with the current behavior

if you try to place the playhead when at high timeline zoom, accurate hover position is pretty easy

But I think there is a hoover , but it is very very small and hard to notice. I can see, where on the timeline I am. Am I right?

the "hover line" you see is tied to the actual playdead position; I can see it easily

in previous CS versions, the line used to show where you held the mouse over the timeline; that is what I thought was being referred to; it was helpful for positing the mouse to define a timeline selection; that is now done with the red/green handles

sorry for any confusion

"in previous CS versions, the line used to show where you held the mouse over the timeline; that is what I thought was being referred to"  <-- yes, that's what I was referring to.

Thanks for your answers kayakman!

I've gone ahead and changed this thread to an "idea" so our development teams can review your feedback when looking at future updates.  Thank you!
