Playhead Moving

I recently upgraded to 2018.0.2 and I can no longer click on any object within the timeline without the playhead moving to where I've clicked.  I used to be able to leave the playhead on a point in the timeline as a reference, and then click and drag the edge of a cut of media or an animation arrow up to the playhead line.  But now the playhead moves to whatever I'm trying to grab and drag, and I lose it as useful way to align things.

How can I get the playhead to remain still, where I've left it?

I don't know why this is happening to you?

I'm currently running 2018.0.5 and it doesn't do that to me. I just checked for updates and I see that there is a version 2018.0 .7 available. I may have to upgrade to that very soon. I'm going to have to look into what that upgrade entails. See when it was released and if there are any bugs associated with it. As it's been my experience that most maintenance upgrades introduce a bug along with correcting them.

I know that this is a "well duh" but it's worth covering anyway; there's no chance that you've picked up a habit of double clicking rather than single clicking the object that you're selecting, is there?
