Many of us instructional designers work hard to put these videos together only for the students watching them to fast forward through the whole thing.  We need to be able to disable the ability for viewers to fast forward to scrub through the video, and just offer the controls to pause or rewind.  Please and thank you!!!

Hello Autumn,

Thank you for your feedback.  This is not the first time we've heard this request.  The best option I have for you today depends on where you are hosting your videos.  If you are creating local Camtasia productions you can manually edit the HTML of each production to disable the video controls all together.

Steps to do that:
  1. Locate the production folder
  2. In that folder you will find an HTML file named: [production-name]_player.html
  3. Open that file in a text editor
  4. Locate the following line of JavaScript:
    TSC.mediaPlayer.init("#tscVideoContent");
  5. Right above that line insert this into the page:
    TSC.playerConfiguration.setDisableControls(true);
  6. Save the file.
When you upload the folder the controls will not be displayed.

Ben

This is not applicable if video is in YouTube, right?
