Please add constant frame rates to snagit.

So I use snagit to record videos of my desktop where I am demonstrating how to do certain tasks.  (Well I'm trying to use...)

However, when it comes to editing the videos in premiere the variable frame rates do not play nice.  The audio is ALWAYS off and a major pain to deal with.  Yeah it seems like an adobe issue too, but why not have this option?  Its a shame that I cannot use, endorse or recommend this product to anyone.  Simply having "low medium and high" is not sufficient.

Hi there

SnagIt is intended for recording very quick down and dirty videos that you just finish and they are done and ready to view with very little (if any) post editing. I believe the videos recorded are created "on the fly". They aren't really intended for taking into other applications for further editing. Unless, of course, you have SnagIt's younger sibling Camtasia.

But then again, if you have Camtasia, why would you be using SnagIt for recording your video?

You might want to investigate Camtasia for this workflow.

Cheers... Rick :)

I can vouch for Camtasia as an excellent tool for putting together training videos.  I'm also a Premiere user for other kinds of video editing, and Camtasia is a better tool for assembling training video that is taking place entirely on the screen (i.e. without webcam of presenter, or cut-aways to classroom).

We do approximately 4000 instructor screen recordings per year in our ASU Online studios.  Slide materials are captured and composited into finished edits with video of the instructor using greenscreen tools in Adobe Premiere. SnagIt has been a great tool to record straight to MP4 to quickly add slide recording into media bins in Premiere, avoiding the necessary extra step of exporting from Camtasia or other similar tools--this extra step really adds up to significant time and workflow processing over thousands of video edits per year.  Previous versions of SnagIt supported constant frame rate video recording.  However, as noted, Premiere does not properly support stable playback, sync, or editing capabilities with the current variable frame rates currently recorded and output by SnagIt.  This is unfortunate, as SnagIt is an otherwise perfect tool for our studio application and workflow.  Returning constant frame rate recording functionality would be most welcome and mean that we could continue using SnagIt again.
Thanks!
