In Camtasia Studio Windows, it seems I cannot import FLAC audio files. Come on, this is so trivial! Please add FLAC audio file import!

FLAC audio files are high quality audio files and many music collections contain this audio file type.

Just out of curiosity, what could you possibly be editing in Camtasia that would require FLAC audio? A lossless FLAC and a WAV are identical sound quality... why not just convert whatever audio you're using in your project over to WAV?

Yes, I could convert it manually. But I like smooth workflows. Which means: Why should I do something myself when the program could do it automatically?

PS: Which means: When I drag a FLAC file to the Camtasia window, the program should automatically convert it to a WAV file and put it in the project directory.

FLAC is a somewhat limited use format.  Like Andrew said, use wav for NO data compression.  At some point you are ripping or preparing the audio for use in CS.  Like Sound Forge to get the audio from a source.  If your having to take the time to get the file from the source, save it as a wav.  BTW, when you produce your CS project as the most common video format (mp4) your going to compress the audio then.

I don't have to get the file from any source. I have a large music collection on my computer. On my desktop, I press a single key and then type a few characters to get the list of music files I need for my project. Then I drag one of the files straight to the Camtasia window. All this takes only a few seconds. This is my concept of a smooth and efficient workflow. You ruin this concept by telling me to manually convert a file from my music collection.

FLAC is commonly used, an i therfore often receive files in flac, and have no choice in this. Having to do extra converting is, well extra work, and i really wish this was supported, nativly or as an add on.
