Please add macOS Visual Effects to Windows Version

As I am using Camtasia both on my Macs and also on Windows System I did notice there are differences in the available options/effects when comparing the two. Especially the visual effects part on Windows is missing quiet a few options available on the macOS version.

I would love to see the Windows Version getting the same visual effects as the macOS Version currently has, as they are effects that make producing content a lot simpler and faster.

Especially
  1. Windows Spotlight - which lets you focus on the front most window while darkening or bluring the rest of the screen
  2. Masking - to mask parts of the screen and highlight others
  3. Freeze selection - this one is especially useful, it allows you to freeze any part of the recording (for example so a notification popup on the right side of the screen is not being shown)
I made a short video to show some parts of Windows Spotlight

for 1, have you tried using the spotlight callout?

for 2, you can create a custom mask and put it in the Library for use in any project;
this technique can be used ...

for 3, have you tried using a cropped saved frame?

Its just not the same. On the Mac its a lot easier to achieve these effects, obviously, since they are just a click away. There might be workarounds on Windows, but again - its more tedious than on the Mac in this case.

Does anyone know if my thoughts are correct, or nearly?  This is for my curiosity but may help others understand why the differences exist.

Similar graphic capability differences are seen in other applications between the Mac and PC world.  Beginning with the Macintosh Mac's were the obvious choice for graphic work.  While the graphic quality differences have disappeared I'm wondering if the OS has built-in graphic "hooks" that make implementation of certain effects easy to add where the underlying code would have to be created on the PC.  Even then, hardware configuration issues might prevent implementation.

That might be very well the case. Looking closely at the Mac and then the Windows Versions of Snagit/Camtasia there more possibilities on the Mac than Windows.

macOS has its "Quartz-Engine" which takes care of all 2D and 3D stuff on the Mac and it might be that because of this engine its easier to get this visual effects.

Hopefully though, TechSmith will find a way to have both versions up to par with each other.

On the other hand, there are also features missed on Mac version that are present in Windows version, like captions/subtitles or the Library (Media). Also Windows version has more transitions...
