My company has moved all email to/from customers out of Outlook and into SalesForce Lightning ServiceCloud (SC). Copy-pasting into the email template in SC from Snagit Editor does not work. It only results in an empty box with a "broken image" icon. You can drag an image from the Recent Captures bar in Snagit Editor into an SC email, but it only attaches a png file with a name that starts with the unfortunate prefix "Snag". Customers would immediately think that this file is about a "snag" or error, even if it actually shows how to use a power feature. So I have to do File > Save As > (better filename.png > open Windows File Explorer > drag the png file into the SC email. Time consuming and tedious.

Please work with SalesForce to make this as easy as exporting to a Microsoft Office app.

Thanks in advance.

If you rename ('Save As')  the file and drag it from the 'Recent' tray, does it not insert with the new file name? I just took the following and dragged it into a new email message in Outlook and it has the same name I saved it as although it was inserted as an attachment. I then copied it in Snagit editor and pasted it in the body of the message and it has no name or other details so, I assume it is embedded in the message. I sent it to myself and then viewed the header info and nowhere in the header is the image referred to by name.

Thanks, how do you rename the file right in the Recent Captures bar, without having to go through saving it?

I know that SnagIt is the name of the software, but the default "Snag____.png" file names are not customer-focused, as it makes their lives harder.  Is there a way to change the default file name that you get when dragging something from the Recent Captures bar?

You can only rename a file in the library, not in the 'Recent' tray. I think the only way to do that is through a preset that 'Shares' the output to a 'File' and setting the defaults in the profile/preset settings. For example, the following image was captured (I turned off 'Hide Snagit when capturing' in Snagit Capture Preferences) by creating a preset with a 'Share' destination of 'File' and the setting for the Image file type is 'JPG - JPEG' and then I saved it, selected the new preset from the presets pane and then used it with the 'big red button' in the Snagit 'Capture Window'. I then 'Escaped' (or you could right-click) to cancel the capture and then used the 'Print Screen' key to initiate and take the capture with my selected settings. Don't forget to click the 'Finish' button at the right end of the toolbar. The image appears in the 'Recent' tray as a jpg file which is verified by looking at the Snagit editor title bar. Until I change it (select another capture preset), the print screen key should produce the same result each time I use it.
