Please add version number to download file

Today I've been trying to download and install the latest
German version of Camtasia Studio just to recognize that the German
version for download currently is only v8.1.2.

There is no clue or hint about the program version to be downloaded at your website.

Well, sure, one could check the Details tab of the downloaded file's properties.
But that can be done only after the file already has been downloaded.
And this approach is cumbersome, too.

Would you please consider adding version information to the names of your downloadable files?

My naming scheme when downloading Camtasia Studio currently is (just giving examples here):

"camtasia 8.1.2 (de).exe"
"camtasia 8.2.1 (en).exe"

Thanks for considering,
Axel Dahmen

Hey Axel,

I'll pass along the idea. As a bit of a work around, you can go here, and it lists which version you would be downloading, though not in German.

Thanks for the feedback!

Hi Axel,

Our previous version downloads, as Logan pointed out, do have version numbers as part of the file name. The file name without a version is where you can always find the most recent version of the software. There are no plans currently to change this for the current version file names, but thank you for the suggestion!

Please let us know if you have any more feedback or questions.

Hi, Jessie,

I see.

This current solution wouldn't be a problem if all localized versions would share the same version as "current version". But, in fact, well ... they don't.

This brings confusion, unnecessary downloads and irritating installation procedures.

Not very user friendly for users who download a localized version of Camtasia Studio.

But thanks for listening!
