PLEASE put back the ability to designate the number of seconds to extend a frame. Are you kidding me? You removed that? So now I have to select everything in the project, move all 30 segements with all callouts to the right by the exact amount I want to insert. Then go back to the insertion point and extend the frame and pray I didnt miss something? Heaven forbid I want to adjust it a bit. This is a serious problem folks.

Hi there! Camtasia Studio 8.0.3, just released today, adds the ability to extend a frame for a specific number of seconds (typed in a box) and also the ability to chain move or push the timeline content that sits "downstream" of where you're editing.

Thanks for your detailed feedback and your patience while we worked on these changes! 8.0.3 is a free update for anyone who owns Camtasia Studio; just open Camtasia and click Help > Check for Updates.

This video from Camtasia product manager Shane Lovellette includes a section showing how the new caption placement works (see 3:20 & 10:04).

In version 7x, I used to be able to switch to the transitions view and add a video between two existing items and it would move the items over and make room. Now in version 8, if I have 30 videos or slides, and I forgot to add slide 3, I seem to have to move each and every item to the right, one at a time in order to add the slide I forgot. Is there a better way?
