PLEASE Support WEBM somehow

I am also a Join.Me user and I would love to be able to edit my presentations with Camtasia. None of the free converters I've tried have worked, so I'm just out of luck.

If actually being able to edit those files is too big a challenge, could you at least provide a converter that would put the file into a format you CAN edit?

Thanks in advance for giving this your consideration.

Hi Robert

One workaround would be to simply play the WEBM and record it using the Camtasia recorder. Then you would essentially have the video in a format you could edit with Camtasia.

Cheers... Rick :)

I second Rick's suggestion, Robert. We use Webex almost entirely, and the conversion process is painful. (Tell me again why it takes > 1.5 hours to convert an hour-long presentation. ;) ) I always use the Camtasia recorder to capture the playback. Good luck to you!

That's good news. I would have thought the audio would suffer tremendously since you're only getting it through speakers.  I'll try this.

Thanks to you, both!

The audio is captured directly from the system, Robert, before it gets to your speakers. If you're lucky enough to have a couple of monitors to work with, set up the capture on one, and you can keep working in the other. Have fun!

+1 from the join.me recordings perspective - native Camtasia support (mac) for .webm would be really helpful from my perspective

Please support webm format. I understand that there's a workaround as described above, but this doubles the work I have to do to create the video I need.

+5 from our company too. Our training department uses Join.me. Seriously Camtasia, hear our plea!

From Wikipedia: WebM is a media file format.[3] It is primarily intended to offer a royalty-free alternative to use in the HTML5 video and the HTML5 audio tags. It has a sister project WebP for images. The development of the format is sponsored by Google, and the corresponding software is distributed under a BSD license.
