Preview First Few Seconds of An Export

It would be nice to be able to preview the first few seconds of an export from within the export dialogue so you don't have to export the entire project to see if, for example, the video is too grainy. The user could tweak the settings in the export dialogue, using the preview to get the settings just right, before exporting the whole project.

Hmmm...maybe. Would it be a small window (you say it would be an option in the export dialog)? You desire this rather than selecting a small part of the timeline and exporting it? (Which gives you a true 'preview': actual size and audio.)

Agreed with luckylindy, exporting 10 seconds is the right way to do this, you get to see the impact of all your settings. I will often choose to export the most critical short segment.

So, John, in case it isn't obvious what they're saying: you can select just a part of your timeline (however much you want). Then, when you choose "Share->whatever" it will ask if you want to just export that portion of your timeline.

I still like the idea of a simplified "preview" button during export though ;)
