Problem in Editing Text when the text object is not the top layer on the canvas.

In previous version, I could easily edit text by selecting the callout on the timeline and using the callout menu bar option. That worked regardless of where in the layers on the screen the text box resided. In the new version, if the text box callout is not the forward most object I can't edit it. When I double click I get the top object. Am I missing something or is this just much harder to do than before?

If there are text callouts in a group, I can't double click on the text object to edit as the group gets selected. If you get a solution I'll be very grateful if you will share it with me.

You need to right click the group and select "Open Group" That way you can select any piece of media from the group and edit it.
Plus, if you have named the group the name will be retained when you group them back together. Just click an open area of the timeline when you are done and the group will re-group automatically.

But I still have problems getting access to the different text layers even after I hav opened the group. Do I really have to move each layer to the side to edit it?

Hello User919243,

Yeah, moving the text just to access it can be less than ideal.

What you can do is temporarily disable the media tracks above it  that's obstructing access to the text layer.

You hide tracks by clicking the track eyeball off. It's located to the far left hand side of the timeline.
Below is an extreme of a buried arrow text callout.

I've Hidden all Tracks "Callouts" but the 1 callout in my example.

I've faced this same issue, and with grouped objects, if the textbox I want to edit is the bottom layer, there is no easy way to hide everything else in the group.

Is there an easy, non-click intensive workaround to edit the text?
