So, I made a video and i have the trial version of camtasia. I had about 4 days till i ran out of time. The video was 1:40 ish minutes long. And I finished it with 2 days to spare. For those 2 days i have been trying to upload the .camprov to youtube but my computer crashes every single time... I made a video before about the same length and the same game that finally posted to youtube .. .this is it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6EaYhH0w0k ... This really pisses me off because now i cant upload the video because my trial ended. I have tried uploading about 14 times... Yes i realize this is could be my own computers fault. but i have seen tons of these problems happening to everyone so i don't think its my computer. can i get like 2 more days to constantly upload it or something?

If you are asking for an extension on your Trial then I would contact TechSmith Support and ask them if they can help you as this is a user to user forum and no user can extend a Trial Version Software for you. I have provided the support information for you below and hope this helps and you like it.

I hope Fred can answer my similar concern: I just downloaded a trial version of the lower-priced Snagit. But I cannot edit, the video I show ("Final Product") is actually much smaller than I'd hoped, other windows vying for space. I know that the trial version is limited, but cannot tell just how my final products Will look because it's vague as to what is just a limit on the trial period, as opposed to a limitation in all of the lower-priced Snagit. Ideas?

Bill I would have to correct you and say that there is no limitations or difference in the SnagIt 12 Full Purchased Version compared to the Free 30 Day Trail Version except that the trail Version is limited to the 30 Days then you would have to purchase the software. None of the TechSmith Software Trials are different from the Full Versions other than the 30 Day Limitations.

As far as editing goes in SnagIt 12 there is very very limited editing that can be performed as it does not offer the editing of the videos and is used more for quick video creations. On that note if you are wanting the ability to create videos and have more options then I would suggest trying the 30 Day Free Trial of Camtasia Studio  PC Version and see if that works better for you. Like I stated unfortunately SnagIt 12 has limitations and not much for editing your completed videos.

I hope this has helped to answer some of your questions and concerns. Let us know and thanks for posting. Have a great day/night.

Keep In Mind: When using the SnagIt or Camtasia Studio trials that you would want to save your image captures using SnagIt to another format for example like .jpeg, etc. instead of the standard default that SnagIt saves the image in for later editing of the image(s). This in SnagIt does not apply to the videos as they are not editable in SnagIt.

The same applies when working with a trial version of Camtasia Studio as the default format is .camrec and you would need to save (Produce) your recorded video(s) to another format for example .mp4/.mov, etc. as the .camrec will not open after the trial expires. Just wanted to ad these notes too this post.

Many, many thanks, Fred. I received this reply within hours of articulating and seconding my similar concern to the thread. I'm used to "average" customer service with other companies; I also called Snagit's phone number last night and left a voice message, thinking that I might not get a reply one way or the other. Well, note this reply to my concern: sure, it's not exactly what I wanted to hear, but it was prompt and accurate information. I also got a phone call back, with a patient explanation. I will buy Snagit with no reservations, as your customer service is great...and your reputation is also beyond reproach. I will spread the word to my fellow teachers about you as well. And who knows, maybe some day we'll figure out a way to get a group together and purchase Camtasia Studio, which looks awesome, for a bulk discount. Thanks again!

Sorry to hear that, so you did not have time to convert the .camproj file to mp4 or something which you could upload direct to YouTube. I take it then you will not be recommending that one of your friends gets a trial copy..:)

Hi Bongoboard,

You cannot upload your project file to YouTube.
If you have gone through the production process, you will have the MP4 video file created and stored in your video project folder. You can go to YouTube and manually upload that video file.

With all that said, videos created with the trial version of Camtasia Studio are only to be used for evaluation purposes and should not be used for public sharing via YouTube or for training, business, corporate purposes, etc.

The trial is strictly to be used to evaluate the product during your decision to purchase. Please consult the Camtasia Studio EULA for more information.

I hope this helps.
