Yesterday my project displayed the .WMV file file fine and was covering the entire canvass. Today - it only covers half the cavass with the upper half all in black.

This is better than uninstalling a security update.

This issues popped up yesterday while using Morae Recorder. I followed the instructions for removing the update and the problem seemed to be resolved, until this morning.

The update is no longer applied but the bars are still present. Other suggestions for removing the bar?

Top part of the video comes black after the recording!.

Hi, I am having problem with recording screen demo. Once the screen demo is recorded the video taken from the camera, plays back with BLACK block on top half part of the video so only bottom part is visible. Like top head part of the person is covered with block of black.

I have tried re-installing the Camtasia Studio however it didn't solve the problem! So, please help me how to fix this issue. I have checked if the camera is causing the issue however it's not and it records the video fine and plays back normal. Only its causing while doing the screen demo.

Problem:

Thanks,
Dj

when you capture with Recorder, where to you have it set to store the file?

check Recorder's tools|options menu, general tab, saving section, output folder; you may have to select automatic file name to see/change the location

the camrec should be in the designated folder

I didn't even realize this was considered a Camtasia problem. My workaround has been to convert the WMV file to another video format; I use MP4. I use the free Miro Video Convertor to do it. That's my workaround. I didn't even think to look here.

GoToMeeting recording imported into Camtasia Studio 8 is missing top half of video.

I recorded a GoToMeeting; it saved in WMV format (not GTM's proprietary format).

I imported into Camtasia Studio 8.1 and the top half of the video is missing.

I tested the video with Windows Media Player and VLC - normal appearance.

Has anyone experienced problems with GTM recordings imported into CS 8.1?

Regards,

Jerry

Hi, folks - I'm using Camtasia Relay (V. 4.3.0.1212)--rather than Camtasia Studio--and Windows 7. Any work-arounds for me?

Microsoft has re-issued the KB2803821 update for Windows 7. The update should fix the problem on all versions of Camtasia Studio and Camtasia Relay.

Windows XP is covered under a different update. A fix for that one is forthcoming but has not been re-issued yet.

Video cut in half, black bar issue and need a legitimate solution..

Video cut in half when recording. I have tried every fix, the windows update that I have seen referenced does not exist on my computer. I am using windows 7. I really need some help getting this fixed. Can someone help? I really don't want to have to take all kinds of crazy steps to make this software work the way it did when I bought it. I saw the post about saving the file somewhere else and then importing back into the timeline. I just don't have the time or patience to take all of these extra steps.

Dr. Garman if you are using Camtasia Studio 8 for the PC have you updated it to the latest version as they had fixed this problem that was caused by a windows Update. Microsoft made changes to the update and it seemed to fix things and was not in the Camtasia Studio software. Let us know and I hope this helps.

I just started having this problem on my work computer. I'm running Vista Enterprise, which wasn't listed as one of the platforms affected by the issue with the updates above. I also can't find MS13-057/KB 2803821/KB 2834904 in the updates list, although I can't figure out how to search the list by update number.

The problem started after a windows update yesterday, which means that it should be fixed by the changes that were announced 8 days ago. Is this a new version of the bug?
