Problem with Markers

Hi Everyone!

I'm using Camtasia2 for Mac to build a video and have inserted several markers to mark the "chapters" of the video. However, when I export the file, then import it into iDVD, the chapters don't show up. When I watch the exported video, it doesn't appear that the markers have done anything - I can't skip through to the next chapter or things like that.

Can anyone offer any advice on this?

Hi Larry,

Camtasia doesn't make "chapters" like you're talking about. It can use markers to create a table of contents for videos that are self-hosted (i.e. you use the HTML that Camtasia outputs) or shared via Screencast.com. It can also use the markers to create linked time stamps in the descriptions of videos shared to YouTube.

All of these options require you to specify that you want to "Create table of contents from markers" in the sharing dialogs.

Here's a short tutorial on markers: http://www.techsmith.com/tutorial-cam...

What features would you want related to this? Chapters for importing into iDVD? Anything else?

I'd love it if I could mark "chapters" in the timeline, then when I export the finished movie to iDVD, it would be able to detect the chapters- if that makes sense. Not even sure if that is possible or not.
If that isn't an option, how about when I am watching the exported movie, I would have the ability to skip ahead to the next chapter?
Just basically looking for a way to break up a 90 minute video into bite size pieces. Thanks so much for your time!

I would be interested in the same thing - I am trying to produce a training video now - and it would be ideal to have the function for importing to IDVD.

I agree! Let's get an easy to use chapter function in Camtasia for MAC! It would be much easier than creating multiple separate files in lieu of a 90 minute video.
