Problems with Quiz Functionality

I am attempting to create a video with embedded quizzes. I've followed the directions in the online vdeos for creating quizzes. I exported the video locally using the .mp4 option with the player and then uploaded the videos to our server. I continue to get the following error: "Certain features in your video are currently disabled due to Local Network Security. These features work correctly when the video is played from a Website or Server". I play the video, the quiz does pop up appropriately and I receive the correct response depending upon my answer. Despite completing the quiz multiple times (by closing the video and reopening), I have never once been asked for my email address (take quiz anonymously and skip quiz have both been unselected), nor have I ever received an email with quiz results attached despite confirming email address is correct in the setting section. Any assistance/guidance would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

I'm not 100% sure on this, but the actual functionality you are wanting may only be possible if you host the video on ScreenCast.com.

Hopefully Ben Rhodes from TechSmith will see this and pop in to confirm or deny my thoughts.

the "certain features" warning only happens when you produce and play locally

after you upload a video with quiz [smart player] to your web site, or screencast.com, the quiz will function, and you won't see the warning

also, you will not receive results unless video/quiz is viewed off a web site

HI carmeng,

Without being able to look at your project, my first guess is the web server you are hosting the Camtasia production with is not configured to serve XML files.  The Smart Player will attempt to load a XML file that contains the data for things like quizzing.  The message you described does show up when viewing the project locally because loading that XML is not supported in that environment.  If you can post a public link that isn't working I could look at it closer.

Thanks,
Ben

Unfortunately, I cannot post a public link, but after my original post, I did publish the video using  screencast.com and it appears to be working beautifully.  I still haven't received the email with the quiz results, but I'm not expecting that until I come back  into work in the morning. Given the information I've provided (and I do understand it's limited) would it be best if I approach our IT team with the  XML information you've given and go from there?

Thank you!

I would ask your IT team about this and see if they can help at all.  Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks,
Ben

Your link is a bit odd. Looks pretty simple as a link, but the actual "behind the scenes" bit is this:

And simply results in a typical "page not found" error in the browser.
