Problems with SnagIt in Windows 8.1

OS: Windows 8.1
All display drivers: latest and greatest
Problem before: not on Windows 8

When screen capture (picture) is launched, the resolution on all my monitors changes to a much smaller resolution. I'm currently running 2x 27" screens with 2560x1440 and one built in display on my ThinkPad with 1920x1200.

This was not a problem on Windows 8, but only on Windows 8.1.

I didn't run the upgrade, but rather did a clean install of the OS. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software.

Also: the PrintScreen shortcut doesn't work anymore.

Hello Chris,

Windows 8.1 has a new setting in it that allows the font to change per monitor depending on the size/resolution of the screen.  It helps make the screen look better when running in situations where you have multiple montiors with different resolutions/sizes..

Unfortunately Snagit isn't working well with this setting currently,  we are investigating possible fixes for this.

For now a workaround is to turn this new ability off within Win 8.1,  by turning this off you will go back to how it worked in Win 8.   This setting is in Display Settings and it looks like this :

Hi again Chris,

With your PrintScreen shortcut not working,  are you running Dropbox?

The latest versions of Dropbox take over the PrintScreen shortcut.

You can disable the Dropbox functionality here :

or Change the default hotkey from PrintScreen in Snagit here :

I don't think Dropbox has a way to change the hotkey yet.

Thanks,

Is this problem fixed in the latest version? I'm running version 10 and am encountering it on Windows 8.1. The work-around helped, but I would prefer to adjust font size separately on each display.
