Tutorial on saving project and zip file and how to find missing files. I have had the issue of saving my projects and opening them up the next day and having missing files. A good friend introduced me to Zip the project and to always open the project from the zip file. I think that Techsmith needs to produce a tutorial that demonstrates the process and then opening the project in the zip file. The answers to this question are in many places - but especially when it happens there is panic in many a producer's heart. I have also had the experience of saving to Zip and opening the zip and I still have missing files. What is the relationship to creating a piece of video - saving it as a project - and then saving it to the zip file. If I save the project the first time on the desktop and then move the file to a folder is that piece of video now a missing file? I think that there is a need for TS to explain how files are created and managed when working within Camtasia. Thank you for your help.

your friend gave you very sound advice ... ALWAYS export as zip if you expect to revisit a project at a later time/date

if the project is in good working order at the time it is zipped, there should never be any missing files when the zip is imported and that project loaded; however, it there are missing files in the project when it is zipped [it happens], then the zipped project will be missing content on reloading

hopefully, TechSmith will produce an appropriate tutorial, covering this subject matter

in the meantime, perhaps you might find this somewhat helpful ...
