Prompt for capture info

Hello,

Is there any way to customize the capture info ? The default info is useless to me and I need to enter specific data. The Windows version prompts the user for caption data, but I couldn't find that anywhere in the Mac version.

Thank you

Hi,

Thanks for taking the time to post your question. Currently, the capture info that gets included is fixed to the fields that you're seeing. Can you tell us a bit more about what you're hoping to accomplish with customizable info (we're always anxious to learn new problems we can be solving)? I will open a new issue to be reviewed by our product manager...so any additional context would be great!

As a little background on this new feature, it was targeted at automating some of the repetitive tasks for folks who use screenshots to report bugs or problems such that their environment will be captured without needing to manually enter that data. This was somewhat of an evolution of the "Caption" feature you're referring to on Snagit Windows, but was implemented in a slightly more targeted way.

Thanks!

It appears there is feature inequality between the Windows and Mac versions. In Windows you can customize what information to display, whereas on the Mac you can't. Displaying the date and time on a screenshot is very valuable when you are working in a highly regulated industry and engaged in validating software. However, I need it on the Mac, and to be able to choose what info to display on the image: Windows

  Mac

Note in the Windows version you can add Custom text. This would be extremely useful for me on the Mac.

Kind regards

I agree with Malcolm. The lack of customizable capture information on the Mac version is a disappointment. I hope the next version of Snagit for Mac includes customizable capture information similar to that presently available on the Windows version.

Hello! I use Snagit 3.3.7 and it - so the system tells me - is the newest version. I do have the same issue, any new developments here? Or is it still not possible to use capture-info on a Mac?

Hi,

Sorry about that! We do have a newer version, Snagit 2018. You can download a trial from our website here https://www.techsmith.com/screen-capture.html.
