Question on reducing file size (when editing video)

I'm trying to edit (cut the front and back part, also scale down the dimension from 1400x900 to 1280x720) of an existing .mp4 video however when I saved back the file (under advanced export this is what my current setting -> frame rate 15, key frame 24, quality to set below the middle bar), the file size turns out to be larger than the original, and with video quality is slightly lower than original. So I wonder what would be the best way for me to keep the quality but remain/reduce the file size (original was 57MB, edited is 200MB!)

Any advise would be much appreciated, thank you!

Send the video out to Sorensen Squeeze and do your edits there ........If you have Squeeze.
Or you can use any NLE.  Generally I found that Camtasia does not reduce videos well as it was not intended to do so.  If yu don't have Squeeze you can send the video to me and I would be happy to squeeze it for you.
