Question regarding the inclusion of Camtasia videos in another e-learning software

I am working on an educational project to create captioned video and include them in an Articulate Storyline project, as captions are required. If I do this, will the CC button option be available for users when playing the video within another software? Or will the captions automatically show up with no turning on/off option? I really only want students to see captions if they choose/need to. But a colleague was telling me that it might not work using Camtasia 8 videos integrated into another software. Any feedback suggestions?

You can turn captions on and off through what TechSmith calls the "Smart Player"
The Smart Player only works when the video is hosted on your own server and/or website. Or hosted on the website Screencast.

So in short, captions will  not work in a  Articulate Storyline project.

You can burn the captions into the video in Camtasia. This will leave you no means to turn them off if desired.

Just a thought. You could produce the video 2 times, one with captions and one without.
Name them so the person can choose the one with captions or without if desired.

Perhaps the captions can be exported to one of the common caption formatted ascii files, and imported into the other elearning software?
