The Problem:

With version 9 of Camtasia, Export to .MP3 was removed.

Potential Solution:

Re-instate the export to MP3.

It's about time that TechSmith has decided to listen to their customers.  Now, all TechSmith has to do is to GET RID OF that BLACK UI and introduce one that is MUCH LIGHTER and ACTUALLY LEGIBLE to the MAJORITY of their users.

I believe the patents on MP3 have just expired and fraunhoffer is no longer seeking money for the use of MP3.

We've been looking into the implications from Fraunhofer's termination of the mp3 patents since their announcement. At face value, it does seem that a license fee is no longer needed. We are doing some due diligence to make sure that's true.

I create training videos, and some of my colleagues would like audio to listen to. Not very many, but enough that the added feature would be useful.

It's looking like we'll be able to add mp3 export on Windows 8 and 10 machines with the next major release of Camtasia. It's being actively developed and tested at the moment.

Thanks for the update on that Brooks. I have had quite a few people asking about this option and if it was going to be something added or not. You state in the next major release of Camtasia so can you let us know if this will or will not then be added for the current version of Camtasia 2018 please ? Thanks again and we appreciate your input. Have a great day/night.

a.martin,

I would hope they would also reinstate this feature for the Mac Users too. I use Windows as I do not have a Mac. But in my opinion it should work for both Versions (PC and Mac). This way if people were collaborating with different versions it would make it easier. This is just my opinion and hopefully we will hear back from Brooks on if this is going to be offered in the Mac Version too. Thanks for you input and post. Have a great day/night.
