(This idea comes what what we’ve heard here in this community as well as from other customer feedback methods we utilize. The feedback we gather here will help us gauge how well it fits our users’ needs. Please let us know what you think)

The Problem:

Camtasia 8 had a way to silence an audio selection (for example, to remove an umm) that required only a click

Potential Solution:

Reinstitute the ‘silence audio selection’ button.

Wow.  So you're saying this simple "Restore a single button that  used to exist" feature , which has received enough votes to be the #3 most important enhancement request from your customers (per the Feature Request Roundup at is not important enough to be a priority.   I just don't get that.  The code already exists.   It was just turned off when the button was removed.  How hard can it be to put it back.

I own a s/w dev company.  I understand priorities, long term plans and so on.  I expect you have some other larger long term plan for audio features.  But you made the effort to collect votes from your users about what they want to see in the app.  This is #3!  I don't see how that can be ignored aka "Not Planned".

Indeed. I find that the best way to avoid the work required to re-implement a feature is to stop removing them in new versions the first place. Snagit is of course more notorious for this than Camtasia is (which is why I'm still on Snagit version 9 and have no intention of upgrading any time soon), but this one is one of many annoyances when it comes to working with audio in Camtasia.
