Is there a way to rearrange the track in camtasia 8? (like moving video track 1 over video track 2)

If what you want is to change the z-order of visual media, this can be done by right-clicking a media in the preview window, then choose "Bring to front", "Bring forward" etc to re-order the media. You may also select multiple media in the preview and change z-order all in once. Of course you can also select multiple media on timeline and drag and drop to change the location.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Kevin

OK thanks... But shouldn’t it be more intuitive to move the track themselves? Like click and dragging the track over or under one another?

Yeah, you are right. I will add this item to our backlog item list.

Thanks again for the feedback.

Yes, that is a good idea. It is difficult with multiple tracks to see all of them, and often only two of them are in a direct relationship with each other, so the ability to drag them into position would be very useful.

I agree. I'm trying to sync captions with the audio and I can't see the captions and audio track at the same time as I have so many tracks! Moreover, I want to zoom in to see the audio waves. This is a significant problem.

Is there a way to re-order tracks in the editor ?.

Hello there,

The title says it all,
it seems to me that there is not quick solution as to move entire tracks (and all of its contents) one under or above another but maybe I'm wrong ?
this kind of editing is very common in professionnal audio/video editing so if this function is not yet implemented, it would be great to have it in a future update.

Please let me know how to (as a work around) select all clips in track, the fastest way ?
edit : ok I've just found how to select all clips in a track (right clicking on the track name brings that opportunity)

Camtasia seems a great program but there is still room for improvement,

sorry if my english is not perfect , it's not my native language.
