Hi there, I'm am testing Snagit 18 as we want to ask our boss to buy the new version. However. when jumping between slides with the Recents timeline at the bottom you have to click on the Recents menu bottom left. This is not possible for us as it delays the process.

Click view > recent captures and it should stay open.

Actually, on my own setup that doesn't work to keep it open.

What DOES work for me is to right-click the gray bar I see when it's open and choosing to Pin.

Cheers... Rick :)

HA ... You are correct as well but it is a tick on my view menu just UNDER "recent captures" as "pin recent captures" that I  didn’t even notice when I wrote the first post.

Either way LOL.

How did you  capture image of snagit?

Mine disappears when I  press prtsc (printscreen).

A tip to put in the reference notebook as another method to capture Snagit.

You can also use a delayed capture to capture Snagit (or other program) menus or dialog boxes.

I have one set for 10 sec, and while it is counting down I expand the menu(s) or dialog box and keep the  mouse cursor hovered on it until the Snagit capture crosshairs appear.

You can than drag out the capture region of the box/menu and make the capture and it goes right to the Snagit editor for edit/sharing.

Not a replacement for the snipping tool because sometimes it's the better route but
the delay method saves having to make a capture with the snipping tool and then bring it in to Snagit to edit or annotate.

LOL, seems that regardless of how you choose to package it and slice it, extra steps are inevitably involved. No?

yep,  Kinda like there's more than one way to get where you're going.

Or you take the high road and I'll take the low road. :)

Thanks! That solved my issue of the Recent Captures suddenly deciding to disappear when I clicked ANYTHING!
