recorded video blinks off and on when it starts

After I have recorded and start to play back the video of my screen shots, the screen blinks off and on at the start of the video. Also when I group to recordings together, it blinks off and on at the transition. I thought this would go away once I created the MP4 in production, but it still blinks off and on at the start and when playing through the two grouped recordings. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there anything I can do to correct this?

When you rendered the MP4, are you absolutely sure there wasn't short blank spots on the time line?

I can check again at the start, but it blinks in and out at the stitched section of the recording. Have you ever experienced blinking in and out at a stitch?

I think the proper term is Group not stitch.

When dealing with transitions.Camtasia doesn't react well when applied to Groups.
This is a bug/problem that dates back years.

What version of Camtasia are you using?
The recorder would record a few black frames at the start of a recording for quite some time.
I believe the bug spanned throughout Camtasia 9.
Finally resolved in a later version of Camtasia 2018.
https://support.techsmith.com/hc/en-us/articles/360015707091-Camtasia-Windows-Black-Frame-in-Recordi...

There used to be a help file regarding using transitions on a group. Recommending you don't do it.I could seem to locate it.

There are workarounds to apply a fade transition between 2 groups. Or a group asset and standard media. Like many workarounds, its extra work to achieve the desired results.

I agree Joe, except for when you say "finally resolved." I use a fade transition in each of  the four elements that I have grouped as an Intro (annotation blocks with animation, two blocks of text, music). Even during editing I then get strange black bars on the bottom and/or side of my creation which persist when I share to mp4.
When I asked Tech Support about a workaround I was told, "Don't do that, Camtasia can't handle it." That was several months ago.
Yes, my program is up to date and always has been.
I'm no longer looking for solutions, I'm just working with what Camtasia can give me.

Transitions are a separate topic which remains unresolved.

It's the recording issue that was resolved.
Perhaps I should have numbered my responses,or reversed the order with which I addressed the 2 issues raised?
The recording error was the first issue raised.

Thank you very much for your insights into this issue! I am using Camtasia Studio 9. I think I am going to have to just live with the issue. I will do a little bit more research, but not going to waste a lot of time on this one. Thank you again for comments, I will take your advice!
