On latest Mac Catalina, lastest Camtasia, it is recording the green border that is shown while recording is in process, making the result useless. Anyone else seeing this? Back to Camtasia 2018, no problem

Must be something with your local installation. Produced a video the other week using my MacBook with Catalina and Camtasia 2019.05.04 and no green border.

Look in the recording application settings? I recall a version or several back that Camtasia had some option that governed whether the Green Rectangle was captured. I don't notice this option in my own settings for Windows and Camtasia 2019, but I do see this:

Wondering if you have similar options over in the Mac version? If so, perhaps try that "Hidden" option?

Cheers... Rick :)

That's not supposed to happen... contact support? I'm curious if it's recording the wrong area or if somehow on your machine it's just putting the green in the wrong spot.

Another guess over here is that you have both Camtasia 2018 and Camtasia 2019, so perhaps you have both recorders open?

No need to guess, the problem is perfectly reproducible.

The latest Camtasia for Mac (2019.0.6) has a serious bug, that renders the recorded videos unusable without further editing.
The green border that's shown when you hit Record doesn't disappear, and it gets burnt into the captured video.

The problem occurs under the following circumstances:
- Dual-monitor setup
- The recording is started from the monitor that’s not being recorded (see screenshot).

There's no problem if one starts the recording from the monitor that’s going to be captured.

Solution
Start the recording from the monitor that’s going to be captured.
Alternatively, you can use an earlier version of the software.

I attached an image to illustrate what I described.

THANK YOU for the extra details- I was able to reproduce this (but only if I set up my dual monitors just right). You're right, this is a bug, and I'll make sure the Camtasia team is aware of it.
