Recording image doesn't change, only cursor

I am using Camtasia 9 and Windows 10 on my Dell Latitude E5470. Once I stopped recording my screen, I add my new recording on the timeline and when I click Play only the cursor and the first frame are shown. I can see the cursor moving and nothing else.

Could anyone help please? This is kind of urgent...

Thanks in advance

Makes me wonder if the machine simply can't keep up with things.

Can you try selecting part of the video and producing that? If you are able, does it produce correctly? (meaning, does the video look okay when you play it?)

Cheers... Rick :)

Hi Rick,

Thanks for your response. About the machine not able to keep up with things, I don't know. It should be helpful to have some guidelines regarding this. But it's a brand new computer with Windows 10!

I've tried what you suggested, but it doesn't look good even if I produce it. The cursor is the only thing moving in my recording.

Do you suggest me checking anything else?

Thanks!

I've checked other responses on the technical forum, and this girl looked like she had the same issue two years ago: https://feedback.techsmith.com/techsmith/topics/when-i-record-why-does-my-mouse-move-but-nothing-els...

But my graphics seem to be okay. Resolution is the recommended one (1920 x 1080) and I didn't find any option in graphics that say "High Performance", as she suggests.

Thanks in advance for any help...

I would suggest doing a short new test screen recording say 30 seconds or 1 minute after rebooting your computer and see if you have the same problem.

If the problem persists then do a reinstall or repair install and try a test again.

If that does not solve the issue I would put in a Support Request online.

Hi Bob,

I've already reinstalled the software and rebooted my computer, and my recording is really short (less than 10 seconds).

Well, TechSmith Tech Support it is then. I am sure they can figure it out for you. I would like to know what the outcome is when they solve your issue.

How dull our lives would be without things to troubleshoot, eh? ;)

Here it goes (thanks Alex O. for your excellent support):

Go to Edit > Preferences > Advanced tab, and change the Hardware Acceleration to "Software Only mode". AND try to record a new recording (the one you've recorded before changing that option is corrupt, just delete it)

Thanks everyone for your help and time!
