Recording of video playing on PowerPoint?

Hi All,

I have been making lecture videos using Camtasia, and at first it recorded videos that were played on PowerPoint with no issue.  However, now, the audio is extremely poor quality--it seems to record externally to the computer, rather than the actual audio from the computer (if that makes sense?).  I suspect I may have inadvertently changed a setting, but don't know what it is.

Does anyone have any idea what the issue may be here, and how to change back to the original recording setting?

Thanks in advance!

The first thing I would check is that you have the correct audio source selected.

Don't know if you are using the Powerpoint Camtasia add-in or not.

If using the add-in that is in Powerpoint, under the add-in tab click on the Camtasia setting icon and make sure the "Record audio" is checked and the source is set to what you want to use.

If using the Camtasia recorder to record your Powerpoint click the down arrow next to the mic icon and set the source and also click options and check the sources settings.

Thanks very much! Selecting "record system audio" did the trick.
