I recently downloaded the 30 day free trial version of Camptasia 7.1.1. I recorded two videos and saved as .camrec files. How do I record audio to those videos?

Hello Lisa,
This video shows how to enable the audio if you like to record audio at the same time you record your video: http://www.techsmith.com/tutorial-cam...

Alternatively, if you'd like to record audio in Camtasia Studio, try using the "Voice Narration" feature. This is detailed in the Help.

I hope this will get you started and we'll be here if you need a hand!

Hi Mike,
Thanks for the quick response. My videos (without audio) are already recorded and saved as .camrec files. I did click on "voice narration" but my video does not display in the "preview section" to the right...it is black. How can I watch my prerecorded video and record so my words are in sync with my video?

Hi Lisa,

I'm wondering if perhaps the camrec or the recording is not on the timeline. Do you need to drag the video from your Clip bin down to the timeline?

From there, click the clip you want to record over. It should be highlighted. You can also slide the green and red tabs by the playhead if you know you just want to provide audio for a specific section.

Next, open the voice narration tab. When you click Start recording, the playhead should move and you will see the video advance in the Preview window. You should now be able to speak into the microphone to get your audio.

Are you sure the mic is working? Do you have a program you can double-check it with like Skype?

Sincerely,
Mike Curtis

Please disregard. I figured it out. I needed to add the .camrec file to the timeline. Now it is visible and I can record the audio to it! Have a great day!
