Remove mouse pointer in sections of Camtasia production

I frequently use Camtasia to record both PowerPoint and software demonstration screenshots. In the demonstrations, I need to have the cursor shown. However, I regularly forget to move the cursor off the screen when showing PowerPoint details. Fixing that often requires re-recording the entire section. What would be an awesome feature would be the ability to add a tool like an annotation, for properties, use it to circle/highlight the cursor on the screen, and then have Camtasia remove it from the video for the duration that the tool is dragged out to. That would avoid having to re-record so many things. I have friends who are Pluralsight authors, and they're regularly having videos rejected because they've left a mouse pointer on the screen. It would fix the issue for them too, without having to re-record everything.

The Camtasia editor has the ability to remove the cursor through cursor effects.

If your recording your PowerPoint presentations using Camtasia and the .trec format. You can edit out the cursor wherever you want and add it back in at will in Camtasia.

That would be easier than redoing your presentation in most cases would it not?

You just animate cursor opacity in and out where desired.

There are a number of Highlight and Cursor effects you can animate as well.

I remove the cursor this way too, often splitting sections of the .trec to add the cursor effect just to that section. Useful too if the cursor has moved to the wrong place, you can remove it by changing the opacity then add the image of a new cursor and animate it to where it should have moved to.

You're a genius thanks Joe. That's not what I thought that did. Thanks, it completely fixes the issue.

Glad I could help, I'm far from a genius though. I wouldn't mind being one for a day. However.I might realize things that would terrify me for life. So, I think I'll settle for where I'm at. LOL
