Remove Broken Links from Imported Snagit 11 Library

I have moved from an old pc running WIn XP & Snagit 11 to a new pc running Win 7 x64 & Snagit 11.2.

I used Snagit's Backup & Restore to import my old library. Now as well as the saved files. it shows hundreds of broken links to jpg files that were saved to different locations on the old pc.

Can anyone tell me how to delete the broken links?

With Snagit 11.2. can we choose the location of the default library folder, as I'd rather move it from the C drive to the rest of my data, for easier backup.

Thanks.

I second this question - I have the same problem after moving from old laptop to a new one. I didn't use any backup/restore process - simply manually copied everything from %User%\AppData\Local\TechSmith folder to my new laptop.

I also copied the image files to the same exact location, so each broken link is actually pointing to a correct file.

I would like to fix this with one of 2 options:
1. Re-link the broken links to their files (preferred)
2. Remove broken links from the library

Any help is appreciated!

Well, this concerns me. It has been over 1 year and we have no response from the company. Can someone from Techsmith respond please?

I am having a similar problem although I didn't move any files. It seems like it just happened out of the blue. All of a sudden, the images in "Library | All Images" are all just displaying the broken image. If I go to Recent captures or pick any other folders everything looks fine.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm actually surprised there has been NO response to this from TechSmith. I've always had good interactions with them.

I occasionally get this issue as well. Has nothing to do with moving images around. It's very frustrating.

When it happens, I try to do a refresh and restart SnagIt, but it doesn't make a difference. I also can't double-click on the thumbnail to open the file in the Editor. If, however, I use File Explorer I can see and open the image with no trouble.

Does anyone know what to do about it?

Hi David and thanks for stopping by the Community Forums;

As this is more of a Technical Support issue I would strongly recommend opening a ticket with our Support Team (it's free!) as they would be best suited to address the issue.

I think this might be related to when the SnagIt image (from the Editor thumbnail bar) is saved to a folder using the "Save As..." function. It seems to change the file path for that image from SnagIt's default backup folder to the folder that the image was saved to. If that picture is deleted, then the link is broken. It might be wise, in this case, to save the photo to your own SnagIt backup folder, than copy the image to the desired locations from there.
